Clip from “The Stakeout”. From Nick.com
It was bad and I feel sorry for everyone who waited on line overnight for basically nothing new:
- They addressed the pulling of episodes only very briefly. “New” info is that the finale is on August 22nd which we figured
- They showed an episode which we’ll see in less than 5 hours
- They took HORRIBLE questions from online submissions. Nothing involving the move to online.
- They showed art of characters we know and then had pencil tests from Mir
- There was a 2nd half trailer which hasn’t been posted online yet
Nick was not held accountable.
Full recap coming.
You do realize that they had barely any time to put this panel together, right?
Like, they were planning to show “A Breath of Fresh Air”, but they couldn’t because the disaster happened, so then they had to scramble and cut all of the teaser pictures that would have been redundant (and keep in mind that everything they showed, all of the character sketches, would have been mind-blowing new images and teasers of our villains and other characters). They have about five episodes left to show, so even the smallest bits of material are a potentially huge spoiler.
And yes, they’ve had two months, they also have full-time jobs to work at, preparing the NEXT book and dealing with the headache of the studio’s disaster. They had to get the timing down to know which episode they were screening, they had to get permission to screen the episode, they had to prepare for more specific and lategame questions, select ones that weren’t going to be answered in the book, adhere to whatever guidelines they were given…Nickelodeon was still funding this appearance, after all, and so it would be unprofessional of them to be abrasive toward their network, however unprofessionally the network may be treating them.
This was what they were able to cobble together in their hours of free time. They could have shown up with all the information we already knew and just sat there awkwardly as they screened the first episode again, but they gave a new one. And get this—that was possibly the LAST TIME that the Korra fandom could come together and watch something all on a simultaneous cast.
I would have loved to be there.
MORE UPDATES ON KORRA.
Michael confirms rest of Book Three and Book Four. And confirms that we watch online because Nick is a joke. I have so much respect for this man.
According to NickandMore, Nickelodeon has pulled the last 5 scheduled new airings of “Legend of Korra” for Book 3. Episode 8 will air this Friday the 25th at 8pm, but then there are no further scheduled new airings. No word yet on when the episodes will air.
